Cheyenne Supercomputer Update

   

Dr. Suresh Muknahallipatna, Professor and Graduate Coordinator UW-UCAR-NWSC Liaison, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Univeristy of Wyoming will focus his talk on the use of the second generation supercomputer Cheyenne at NWSC. The presentation will include a discussion on the current supercomputer usage and various project topics by the University of Wyoming faculty and students.  The presentation will also discuss the economic benefits of having access to the Cheyenne supercomputer instead of accessing commercial cloud computing services like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The talk will conclude on the planned third-generation supercomputer, which is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2021.
