Three New Members Introduced
There were three new members introduced to the Club members last Wednesday:
Jessica Schnug is sponsored by Lori Garrison.
Jessica grew up here in Cheyenne and graduated from East High School. She received her Bachelors of Social Work from the University of North Dakota and will graduate with her Masters of Social Work in December. Currently, Jessica work at Burns Insurance Agency in the Accounting department, but plans to start working as a therapist full-time starting in January at Hope and Healing.  She will then go on to get her Licensed Counselor of Social Work license after completing 3000 counseling hours.
Jessica has been married to her husband, Kyle for 2 years and they have 2 pups, Poke and Olive.
Jessica enjoys cooking, reading and trying her hand at interior design. She is also a self-declared avid Dr. Pepper drinker.  Jessica is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Cheyenne and chose to join Rotary for continued friendship, networking, and being an active member of the community.

Taida Baldwin is sponsored by Lori Garrison.
Taida Baldwin grew up here, in Cheyenne.  Both of her parents were in the US Air Force.  She graduated from University High School in Greeley, CO.  After high school, she attended Aims Community College and LCCC before she left for Texas.  Taida started nursing school while in Houston, TX but part of the way through the program; she had a very complicated pregnancy and had to leave school.  After her son was born and started school himself, she went back to work in the medical field until 2019.
In 2019, Taida decided to get her insurance adjuster and Property and Casualty licenses.  She has since been writing insurance in the commercial insurance department at Burns Insurance Agency for the Cheyenne and Laramie offices.
Taida has been married for 3 years, to her husband, Kyle.
She has one amazing son and two awesome step-children.  The family has four dogs that I will add were dressed in Halloween costumes acting like perfect angels at a recent party at the Baldwin’s home.
Taida, loves being outside and her family does as much as they can, outdoors, all year.
Her favorite food is prime-rib extra rare.
As the kids get older and life is starting to be a little less hectic, Taida wanted to be part of something, like a club that gives back to the community.  She was given that opportunity by Burns Ins. so she chose to join Kiwanis and Rotary.  Taida says, so far, so good!

Tammy Tschacher is sponsored by Roger Schreiner.
It is my great honor to introduce Tammy Tschacher as the newest member of the Cheyenne Rotary Club.

Tammy was born and raised in Cheyenne, and she is a graduate of Central High School.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in human resource management while serving in the Wyoming Air National Guard, and she retired from the Air Guard as a master sergeant after 23 years of service.

Tammy began her real estate career in 2001 when she became a certified residential appraiser.  In 2014 she also became a licensed real estate agent.  She owns her own real estate appraisal company, Sweetwater Appraisal Service, and she is associated with Century 21 Bell as a sales agent.  Within the Century 21 network nationally, she has received a number of sales production awards and she has also received the coveted Quality Service Pinnacle Award, which is based on personal reviews received from her clients.

Tammy has been active in the Cheyenne community as a member of the Cheyenne Board of Realtors, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, the Enlisted Guard Association, Cheyenne Women’s Civic League and the Wyoming committee of the employer support of the guard and reserve.  Also, she recently graduated from the Leadership Cheyenne class of 2021-2022.  She has volunteered with Cheyenne Frontier Days for many years, and was recognized as a CFD Heel in 2013.  For over twenty years, when military VIPs, including secretaries of the Air Force and any number of four star generals visit Cheyenne during Frontier Days, Tammy is assigned as their CFD escort while they are here.

Tammy and her husband Terry have a blended family of four sons, one daughter, 8 grandchildren and one canine kid, Kimber.  Tammy’s hobbies include camping, traveling, quilting, crafting, biking, cooking, and her family.

Personal note – I’m blessed to have Tammy as my niece, and today I’m one proud uncle!  Please help me welcome Tammy Tschacher as our newest member.

Rotarian of the Week
Our Rotarian was born in Gillette WY and raised in Buffalo WY until ninth grade. Her parents were both teachers. Her dad taught music and mom was a teacher and then a Junior High Principal. The family moved to Casper when she was in ninth grade, where she graduated from Kelly Walsh with a graduating class of 325.
Her first job was at a hamburger fast food chain called Main Street 1910, eventually bought out by Wendy’s. That job taught her that for $2.50 per hour, she wanted to go to college, so she never had to work fast food again.
Our Rotarian of the Week went on to graduate from the University of Wyoming College of Business with a degree in Business Administration. She and her husband Jeff met in high school and married after graduation from the University of Wyoming. They moved to Casper to start her banking career at First Interstate Bank. Dershie Barber has two children, Madison and Aaron, who were both born in Casper.
In 2000, the family moved to Cheyenne where Dershie worked with ANB. She and her family have now been in Cheyenne for 22 years. She has spent her career as a trust officer and estate planner and cannot imagine doing anything else. Dershie worked for ANB for 11 years then went to Wyoming Bank and Trust, where she works today as a Sr. Vice President & Trust Officer. In her banking career, she has been privileged to work for three family-owned banks.
Their daughter, Madison is in her third and final year at the University of Wyoming College of Law. Both of her kids graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Business. Aaron studied finance and blockchain technology. He played college soccer for 4 years but wanted to graduate from University of Wyoming, which he did this year. Dershie’s husband Jeff is a manager for UPS, owns a seasonal tax business, and recently opened Cheyenne Pack & Ship Store.
Dershie was sponsored into Rotary by Billie Addleman.  She joined Rotary after the kids went to college. She became a member because Rotary makes a difference and for the networking it offers.  Dershie has been actively involved in the Membership committee and Rotaract. In the community, Dershie also serves on the LCCC Foundation Board, LCCC Booster Club, and the University of Wyoming College of Business Advisory Board. She is a diehard Pokes fan with season tickets to football and basketball. Her favorite foods are Italian and Greek.
She loves traveling with her family particularly to Europe, with Italy and Spain being her favorite countries. For her kids HS graduations, the family ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. The family is planning a trip to Greece for Madison’s graduation and passing the Bar. The family has two very spoiled dogs.
Please join me in honoring Dershie Barber as the Rotarian of the Week.
New Member Application
Dana Even, Catering and Services Manager for Little America has applied for membership in our club.  She is sponsored by Mick Finnegan.
Volunteer Needed to House Exchange Students
Cheyenne always hosts outbound exchange interviews for the entire district. We are looking for one family to host our female inbound exchange students from other parts of the district.  We need a family to host five or six girls on the nights of December 2 and 3. If the host family can get them dinner on the second and third the club will pay. The 5 or 6 girls will bring sleeping bags and pillows so they can just crash on the floor. We need our host family to feed them breakfast and bring them to LCCC Saturday morning where they will be helping us with interviews all day. A few may stay Saturday night, but some will be leaving. It would be a fun weekend and would be very much appreciated! They are great Rotary Ambassadors.
