Girls on the Run
Our guest this week is Cindy Bradley, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Wyoming. Mrs. Bradley will speak to the club about the mission and vision of Girls on the Run and how they work to positively impact girls’ lives in our community.

Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance participants social, emotional and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. Our fun, interactive lessons meet the unique needs of participants of all abilities and backgrounds.

Mrs. Bradley and her team work to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. They envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Joint Service Club Food Drive
In Wyoming, it is estimated that 86,000 residents struggle with food insecurity. In Laramie County alone, approximately 11% of households struggle with food insecurity, with the number increasing to 14% for those households with children. A large proportion of these individuals rely heavily on food banks and donations made possible by the community.

The Rotary, Kiwanis, Zonta, and Lions Clubs of Cheyenne have all teamed up to sponsor a two-day food drive Saturday, August 27th 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, August 28th 12 PM to 5 PM. Collection locations include Albertsons (Yellowstone Rd.), King Soopers (Dell Range Blvd.), Safeway (S. Greeley) and Walmart (Livingston Ave.).

Volunteers are needed for the day of the event and can sign-up for various times and locations following this link:  https://tinyurl.com/clubfooddrive
You can also contact Tom Brantley to sign up for a time slot to volunteer; 307-778-4043; tombrantley@mac.com

Food collected will be distributed to each of the following entities:
1. Laramie County Community College Western States Bank Student Food Pantry - Provides free food, toiletry items, and school supplies to LCCC students in need.
2. Needs Inc. Food Pantry - Provides food, essentials, and resources to Laramie County residents during their time of adversity.
3. Veterans' Rock - Provides support for homeless veterans in need and their families.

In lieu of food donations, monetary donations may be mailed to: Food Drive, P.O. Box 2883, Cheyenne, WY  82003. Please make checks out to one of the three locations receiving collections.
