Chaz Miles

Our program title outlines part of Chaz’s story! The real story still unfolds and needs to be heard.  This young man with many labels and stories to tell is unique, yet like other humans he has all our normal wants, needs, fears,  inspirations, benefits, and barriers in his life.  He has lived it full flavored that some envy and others question.  We each have our backgrounds and stories, but few of us have so many of the characteristics in our lives that have become newsworthy.
“Being Native American, Hispanic, Black, Educated, Athlete, Believer, Musician, Celebrity, Concerned, Optimistic, and Normal…in One Body…in Our Times!”

Family Promise of Cheyenne assists homeless families with minor children. Family Promise of Cheyenne is the sole family only shelter in Laramie County and has partnered with local faith communities to provide shelter since 2001.

Families living in their cars, in a trailer without heat and running water or in a motel on a night-by night basis are who we help.  About one-third of Wyoming’s homeless families are living in Cheyenne. 1 in every 4 homeless person in Wyoming is a minor. In Laramie County, every year, there are more than 200 homeless children in the school system. Homeless families with children in Laramie County continues to be a disturbing reality. Family Promise of Cheyenne partners with numerous faith-based communities as well as Peak Wellness Center, Dads Making a Difference, Climb Wyoming, the Laramie County School Districts, and many other organizations and individuals in the community in order to serve families with children in need.

Fall District Assembly
You are invited to the Virtual Fall District 5440 Assembly. Please click on the link below to attend or decline. You can also book family and friends.

Event:Virtual Fall District 5440 Assembly
Date:Oct 10, 2020 9:00 AM  - Oct 10, 2020 11:30 AM

Assembly will include presentations on Fundraising during COVID-19 and Membership and our featured speaker is RI President Holger Knaack.  Holger will join us promptly at 10:00 am for his presentation.

Holger Knaack, a member of the Rotary Club of Herzogtum Lauenburg-Mölln, Germany, is our new president of Rotary International in 2020-21. To build a stronger membership, Holger Knaack says Rotary must focus on increasing the number of female members and transitioning Rotaractors into Rotarians. Knaack believes that the People of Action campaign offers new public awareness possibilities for Rotary. “This campaign conveys our global image while still respecting differences in regions and cultures,” he says.......

.........

A Rotary member since 1992, Knaack has served Rotary as treasurer, director, moderator, member and chair of several committees, representative for the Council on Legislation, zone coordinator, training leader, and district governor.

He has been an endowment/major gifts adviser and co-chair of the Host Organization Committee for the 2019 Rotary International Convention in Hamburg.

Knaack is the CEO of Knaack KG, a real estate company. He was previously a partner and general manager of Knaack Enterprises, a 125-year-old family business.

He is a founding member of the Civic Foundation of the City of Ratzeburg and served as president of the Golf-Club Gut Grambek. Knaack is also the founder and chair of the Karl Adam Foundation.

Knaack and his wife, Susanne, are Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation and members of the Bequest Society.

What it’s like to survive through two

Rotary and its GPEI partners celebrate a monumental achievement, say global eradication of wild polio is possible with the continued dedication and persistence of Rotarians

Your parents told you to be nice to people. Guess what? They were right. Here’s why.

Binish Desai began working on an eco-friendly brick made out of recycling and waste, when he was 11. The former Rotary Youth Exchange student, inventor, and entrepreneur credits Rotary with giving him the support to pursue his dreams. Now he’s giving back through a new Rotary club.

These clubs keep things fresh with new ideas and new members.
