Rotary Business Sponsorship Program
Tom Bass came up with the idea of a Business Sponsorship program for our Rotary Club as he had sucess with this idea when he was in the Kiwanis club.  He and PP Traci Lacock discussed the idea and formed the original committee which included Tom, Traci, Brittany Wilson, Derek Jerred and Mike Williams.  The concept was to raise money from local businesses to do good things in Laramie County and in turn promote those businesses at Cranium Cup and thru our media programs. The committee began raising money for our Rotary club and our Local Rotary Foundation in 2020..
Listed below is what we have raised since 2020:

2020                     21,250
2021                     31,250
2022                     36,000
2023                     40,000
2024                     44,500
2025                     45,000
TOTAL              $218,000

These funds have helped in some of the following projects:

  • Bikes/Helmets/Car seats for Firefighter Safety Day

THANKS TO OUR MANY BUSINESS SPONSORS THAT MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!
Three New Members Introduced
President Beth introduced new member Sue Akey, Cindy Pomeroy is Sue's sponsor but Cindy is enjoying warmer weather south.

Sue was born and raised in Billings, Montana. She moved to Helena, MT for 15 years and was involved in Montana politics. She then moved to Washington DC for 11 years and worked in Politics and for AAA National in public relations.

She moved to Cheyenne in 2010 to be closer to family, her sister and kids live in Cheyenne.  Sue's nephew Bryan Pedersen has 4 kids and it has been wonderful to be able to attend – football, soccer, and attending what ever they are involved in doing.   Sue worked as 1st Lady Carol Mead’s chief of staff at the Governor’s residence for 8 years.  Then worked for the Wyoming Business Council till she retired last June.

Sue loves being a part of the Cheyenne community.  Since moving here she has become a huge University of Wyoming Cowboys fan.  She got to watch Josh Allen play college football and now is a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills.

New member Aaron Damery was introduced by his sponsor PP Lori Garrison and is welcomed to the Club by President Beth.

Aaron Damery is from a small Central Illinois town named Blue Mound. Population 1,000. three hours south of Chicago, and two hours north of St Louis.
Aaron grew up in the middle of a cornfield, where he fixed people's VCRs, PlayStations and computers while going to high school.
At 17, Aaron enlisted in the United States Army. He served as an IT Specialist, three years Active Duty and three years with the Guard. He left in 2015 at the rank of Specialist. (Thank you Aaron for your service)

Last July he made the decision to sell everything he owned in Illinois to move to Cheyenne and start his own computer business.
Aaron says he moved to Cheyenne because, when he was a kid, he used his dad's record player without permission and the first song he played was Cheyenne Anthem by Kansas.

Aaron has a 100lb Rhodesian Ridgeback dog named Charlie and two cats, Eddy and Gato.
Aaron plays guitar, competitively shoots rifles and pistols, collects antique firearms, prefers primitive camping, and likes to work on vehicles. Aaron is also a huge St Louis Cardinals fan.

Friends, please welcome Aaron to the club and consider supporting his business, Damery Information Systems, LLC.
