Our Rotarian of the Week grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, graduating from Central High School with a class of nearly 350 students. After high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering focus from the University of Wyoming. Our special Rotarian’s first job was working at The Buckle in the mall for $2.50 per hour and commission when she was 16 years old. She is now a partner at the engineering firm of Martin & Martin. Jera Likely and her husband, Josh, have been married four years. Her favorite Rotary moment is the many trips she has made with fellow Rotarians and friends to District Conference or other Rotary events. She loves Rotary because of the friendships she has developed and the work she can do with other professionals that she may not normally have gotten to know. Jera has been in Cheyenne Rotary since 2018, having been sponsored by Robin Sims. She currently serves on the Club’s Board of Directors, overseeing public relations. Other than family, her proudest accomplishment is starting the Structural Engineers Association of Wyoming and serving as President in a heavily male dominated field. Jera’s favorite meal is her Mom’s German pancakes with peanut butter, bananas and maple syrup on top. In her free time, Jera loves hiking, climbing mountains, and fly fishing. She hopes to climb all 52 of the Colorado 14-ers, already knocking off four of them. Please join me in celebrating Jera as this week’s Rotarian of the Week. |
