Rotarian of the Week
This Rotarian of the Week grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, graduating from East High School with 318 students in her Thunderbird class.  After high school, she attended LCCC, where she joined the LCCC Rotaract Club, serving a term as the Rotaract Club President. After LCCC, she finished her bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Wyoming.  Her first job was working at J.C. Penney where she made $6.00 an hour.  Bailey Nowak currently works as an Account Executive at Hub Insurance, where she helps clients obtain security through appropriate commercial insurance coverage.  Bailey’s most memorable Rotary experience was attending the Rotary International Convention in Toronto when she was a Rotaractor. She loves Rotary for the service opportunities and the connections with other professionals. Through the Rotary family she was able to help find a host family for a local medical student in the Vail, Colorado area, which would not have been possible without Rotarians willing to help others they didn’t know.  She has been a member of our Club since 2020 and was sponsored by Jera Likely.  She is member of the World Community Service committee and serves on our Board of Directors overseeing Membership.  Other than family, her proudest accomplishment is starting her own lawncare service company at the age of 12, and successfully running and operating it for 13 years.  Bailey’s favorite meal is Cajun shrimp with rice, which is a longtime tightly held family secret recipe that she doesn’t even know. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and playing volleyball, including a traveling volleyball team that plays all over the Mountain West area.

Joint Service Club Food Drive
In Wyoming, it is estimated that 86,000 residents struggle with food insecurity. In Laramie County alone, approximately 11% of households struggle with food insecurity, with the number increasing to 14% for those households with children. A large proportion of these individuals rely heavily on food banks and donations made possible by the community.

The Rotary, Kiwanis, Zonta, and Lions Clubs of Cheyenne have all teamed up to sponsor a two-day food drive Saturday, August 27th 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, August 28th 12 PM to 5 PM. Collection locations include Albertsons (Yellowstone Rd.), King Soopers (Dell Range Blvd.), Safeway (S. Greeley) and Walmart (Livingston Ave.).

Volunteers are needed for the day of the event and can sign-up for various times and locations following this link:  https://tinyurl.com/clubfooddrive

Food collected will be distributed to each of the following entities:
