Update on CRMC's new technology and COVID-19

Tim Thornell, President and CEO of Cheyenne Regional Health System in Wyoming will update us on new technology at CRMC and provide the latest data on COVID-19.

Consider a Rotarian
Rick Flood, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with Platte Valley Bank was our Consider a Rotarian last week.  The following is the information he shared with the club:

It is my pleasure to share a brief history of myself and our bank.  I grew up in Thermopolis, in north-central Wyoming. After graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1983, with a BS in Finance, I began my banking career in Cheyenne as a management trainee with First Wyoming Bank. Over the next 20-years, I worked as a consumer, commercial and real estate lender, branch manager and regional manager in Wyoming and northern Colorado, before joining the team at Tri County Bank in September of 2007. I celebrated 37 years having worked in the banking industry in January of this year, and consider myself fortunate to still love what I do.

Third generation Nebraska banker Hod Kosman began Platte Valley Companies in 1996, with a single location in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  In 1999, Platte Valley Companies expanded into the great state of Wyoming, opening the first branch in Torrington, followed soon after with a second location in Wheatland.  In March of 2001, Platte Valley Companies acquired the Tri County Bank charter giving us our first presence in Cheyenne, and our third branch location in SE Wyoming.  In October of 2007, just after I joined the bank, Tri-County Bank opened up their second branch location in Cheyenne at 3310 North College Dr. In March of 2009, Platte Valley Companies acquired the Bank of Wyoming-Casper, expanding their footprint to now five (5) branch locations in four (4) Wyoming Communities.  In January of 2014, Tri-County Bank changed its name and merged with Platte Valley Bank, becoming part of Platte Valley Bank-Wyoming.

We take pride in our humble beginnings to collectively having 25 locations across three states; Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. With total assets of almost $2 billion, Platte Valley Companies are celebrating 25 years in business this year.  Today, Platte Valley Financial Service Companies, Inc. consists of 10 Platte Valley Bank – Nebraska locations in the communities of Scottsbluff, Gering, Bridgeport, Morrill, Sidney, and most recently Alliance and Chadron; 6 Platte Valley Bank – Wyoming locations in the communities of Torrington, Casper, Cheyenne and Wheatland; 5 Mountain Valley Bank Colorado locations in Walden, Steamboat Springs, Hayden, and Meeker; J.G. Elliott Insurance Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Casper, Torrington and Wheatland, Wyoming; C.H. Brown Co. LLC., an equipment leasing subsidiary in Wheatland, Wyoming; and Platte Valley Investment Center, Inc. in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Our success is a testament to the strength of our company, and derived from the support of the communities we serve. One of our greatest assets is our people, Platte Valley Companies currently employs over 320 employees. Our Banks are full service community banks with a wide variety of products and services to meet the needs of the communities we serve. We offer checking and savings accounts, investment and trust services, commercial, agricultural, real estate and construction loans, auto and mortgage loans, lines of credit, credit cards, and much more. Thank you for the opportunity to share a bit about myself and my business."
Thanks to LCCC
There was a mix-up in scheduling last week and the club leadership realized on Tuesday that we were unable to meet at Little America on Wednesday.  Quick thinking by Lori Garrison and Brent Lathrop resulted in a call to Wendy Soto, Chair of the LCCC Board of Trustees and a rescue by Lisa TrimbleAssociate Vice President of Institutional Advancement at LCCC.  We were provided with a meeting space in the dining hall and an excellent lunch.  Many thanks to LCCC.
