Hello my Rotary family-
Our Rotary family is at 203 members today. I believe our growth is due to many of you inviting others to join our club and being welcoming. You are giving life to our club through your enthusiasm and kindness. Please continue to invite those service-minded folks you know in our community to join our Rotary family whether through our traditional club or our companion club.
Our club growth is being noticed at the district level. District 5440 Governor, Steve Sehnert, awarded our club the Outstanding Large Club of the Year for 2023-2024. You might not know that the Rotary year runs from July 1 - June 30. That means I have four more meetings and programs to run with the End of the Rotary Year/Passing of the Gavel Ceremony on June 26. Please know that you are all invited to attend on June 26. Our lunch service will start at 11:30 with special music starting around 11:45. The Outgoing Board members will be thanked and incoming Board members will be sworn-in including our next club President Beth VanDeWege. Our club Officers continuing for the year ahead will be Mary Schwem, Secretary and our Treasurer, Scott Fox. Ron Hammel is our club Editarian who sends out our weekly e-newsletter and maintains our club website cheyennerotary.org. I cannot thank these three enough for all they do to help our club run smoothly. I will be transitioning to the role of our District Membership Committee Chair and will continue to help with growing our club.

Our program committee has been knocking it out of the park this year with their engaging and educational programs. Thank you to committee chair, PP Brent Lathrop and committee members Bob Maguire, PP Roberta Coates and PP Roger Schreiner. Bob Maguire will be chairing the committee for the 2024-2025 Rotary year. I have received several emails lately about the great programs this year as well as our welcoming, kind and friendly club atmosphere.

Our club’s volunteer work in the community through our service projects has been phenomenal as well. Thank you to the 12 Rotarians who helped with our Crow Creek and Rotary Park clean-ups in May. Your volunteer time does not go unnoticed. Please send me photos from your volunteer work in our community and state and that of the organization you are helping so that you can be recognized. Representing Rotary in our community is a great way to show pride for our service club.

“Its simple. The more members we have, the more people we can help. A stronger membership base will result in stronger communities.” ~Gary CK Huang, Rotary Intl. President 2014-2015
