The ride highlighted the development of the Greenway along the way around the park, East Cheyenne and through the Highway 30 underpass that is now open.
As you can imagine due to the wind and early rain, we had a small, but hardy group turn up. Pete and Barb Laybourn led the tour. Roberta Coates had a refreshment station for the riders near her home in Mylar Park.

Family Promise of Cheyenne assists homeless families with minor children. Family Promise of Cheyenne is the sole family only shelter in Laramie County and has partnered with local faith communities to provide shelter since 2001.
Families living in their cars, in a trailer without heat and running water or in a motel on a night-by night basis are who we help. About one-third of Wyoming’s homeless families are living in Cheyenne. 1 in every 4 homeless person in Wyoming is a minor. In Laramie County, every year, there are more than 200 homeless children in the school system. Homeless families with children in Laramie County continues to be a disturbing reality. Family Promise of Cheyenne partners with numerous faith-based communities as well as Peak Wellness Center, Dads Making a Difference, Climb Wyoming, the Laramie County School Districts, and many other organizations and individuals in the community in order to serve families with children in need.
Our program title outlines part of Chaz’s story! The real story still unfolds and needs to be heard. This young man with many labels and stories to tell is unique, yet like other humans he has all our normal wants, needs, fears, inspirations, benefits, and barriers in his life. He has lived it full flavored that some envy and others question. We each have our backgrounds and stories, but few of us have so many of the characteristics in our lives that have become newsworthy.

Tucker Fagan is a retired U S Air Force Colonel who spent his 30 year career in missile and space operations. He is a former F E Warren AFB wing commander and 20th Air Force vice commander. He spent significant time helping the Air Force do nuclear war planning and is considered an expert in the area. When Ronald Reagan became President, Tucker was the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Nuclear Section, where he prepared the nuclear “Football” for the President. The Football is a set of procedures and codes the President needs to initiate a launch of nuclear weapons in the event the U S is attacked. As such it is carried by a senior officer (usually a Lieutenant Colonel (Army, Air Force, Marines) or a Commander (Navy). The Football literally goes wherever the President goes. Tucker gave President Reagan his initial briefing on the Football, teaching him the procedures, timing and options.
