The Cheyenne Rotary Club Foundation, founded in 1988, was created exclusively for the benefit of the Cheyenne Rotary Club to enable our Club to support community projects throughout Laramie County. Projects supported by the Foundation have included music education through the Cheyenne Symphony, the Veterans Center at LCCC, protective equipment for Cheyenne police, and character development books for students. With your gifts, we can do even more! When the endowment reaches $1 million, our Club will be able to contribute up to $50,000 per year to local projects. And this year, not only are your donations matched by a $30,000 challenge gift from Rotary Club funds, because of the CARES Act a larger portion of your donation may also be tax deductible. Help Rotary make a difference in our community, and donate today!

Array and the Rotary Club of Cheyenne Announce Computer Science Partnership for Wyoming Students CHEYENNE, WY — Starting in November, all students in Wyoming will be able to take “Introduction to Computer Science Fundamentals using JavaScript” at no cost. This brand-new course is self-paced, entirely online, and taught by our Wyoming Array instructors and has been made possible through the generous support of the Rotary Club of Cheyenne and a $3,000 grant. This course and additional future chapters provide high school students the understanding of real-world computer science applications and coding skills using the language JavaScript, particularly to start in a microworld called Karel. Array will issue students who complete the course a certificate of completion, mentorship, and an opportunity to earn a certificate of authenticity from the school. Others may take the course for a one-time enrollment cost of $99. “We are excited to partner with Array on this meaningful educational opportunity for students throughout Wyoming,” Brent Lathrop, President of the Rotary Club of Cheyenne stated. According to Eric Trowbridge, CEO of Array: “Our ability to offer virtual educational opportunities to students in Wyoming is important, now more than ever. Two contributors to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle’s editorial pages, Alan Kirkbride and Rodger McDaniel, will present their respective opinions on one or more controversial topics. They will then demonstrate how their opposing political views need not interfere with their friendship by having a civil conversation about these topics, using Braver Angels techniques to “bridge the divide.” In breakout and full group discussions, participants will identify what techniques were, or were not, successfully used to maintain civility.
If you want to say ,"Hi!" and catch up with each other before the meeting, please "join" the virtual meeting any time after 2:00.
