The Cheyenne Rotary Club Foundation (CRF) Board of Trustees announced at the July 19th Rotary meeting plans for the future home of the new Rotary Park in Cheyenne.  Mayor Collins joined in on the announcement to express his support and enthusiasm for the park. The map above shows the location just North of Dell Range Blvd between Prairie Avenue and Powderhouse Road.
CRF will purchase and donate the land to the City of Cheyenne as soon as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is signed by the City.  Included in this MOU is the understanding that the park will be named Rotary Park.  Purchase of the property has been made possible by a generous anonymous donor specifically to create Rotary Park.  It is expected that the City Council will vote on the MOU and plans to proceed within the next 60 days.
Rotary Park will be a perfect location for a community asset that reflects Rotary’s vision and commitment to the city of Cheyenne, preserving green space, building community assets, involving all of Rotary’s Areas of Focus, and enhancing the lives of people and property.
Development of Rotary Park will include water quality and safety aspects along Dry Creek, educational and conservation components, public gathering and recreation opportunities, and more.
Getting to the point of this announcement has been a journey involving many members of the Club and CRF board members.  Many years of work and envisioning by those Club members has resulted in a project that every Rotarian in Cheyenne can be extremely proud of.  The Club and Foundation look forward to involving all Rotarians and community members in the future home of Rotary Park!
