President Beth presents a check to Kris Whitfield, Exective Director of United Way. The following is a quote from Kris:
"United Way of Laramie County is deeply grateful for Rotary’s generous $5,000 grant to support our Community Schools Program. This initiative places a United Way Community School Resource Coordinator in LCSD#1 Title I schools to connect students and families with essential resources. Rotary’s support helps fund family engagement events like literacy and STEAM nights, parent workshops, basic needs assistance (food, hygiene, and school supplies), enrichment opportunities, and crisis support. Through partnerships with local organizations, the program addresses academic, social, emotional, and basic needs—helping students thrive and families build stability. Our coordinator, Shelly, works closely with school staff to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed both in and out of the classroom."
