Our newest Rotarian, Nick Norris was introduced by his sponsor, Lori Garrison.

Nick was born in eastern South Dakota and arrived with his family in Worland, WY when he was eight.  His family later moved to Evanston, WY where he graduated from high school in 2001.  Nick attended the University of Wyoming for undergrad, as well as for his Masters in Environment and Natural Resources and Juris Doctor.  Go Pokes!

After undergrad, with a partner and some seed money from the UW $10K entrepreneurship competition, he started and grew a successful business.  You have probably have seen the Tiger Tree trucks around Cheyenne.

Nick met his wife Kelly, working for the Forest Service doing recreation work and fighting wildland fires the summer before he started law school.  They were married in 2011 and moved to Buffalo, WY in 2012 after Nick finished law school.  Nick and Kelly have two boys, Ben and Henry, 8 and 5 respectively.  They moved to Cheyenne in August of 2022, when Kelly was promoted to the Assistant State Forester of Operations position.  She is now the acting interim State Forester.

Nick started his law practice with Thomas Lubnau II (former Speaker of the House with whom you are probably familiar) at Lubnau Law, in 2012 and was made partner in 2017.  Nick remains with Lubnau Law today. Nick put his education and entrepreneurship experience to use practicing in Business Law, Oil and Gas and Ranch Law.  While he and his wife Kelly began raising their own family, Nick developed a real passion for helping families plan their futures through effective Estate Planning, which makes up the largest portion of his practice today.

Nick and Kelly also founded a charity called the Oversized Heart Foundation. The Oversized Heart Foundation currently runs the Clear Creek Wood Bank in Buffalo, WY and has provided scholarships to first generation women to attend college, and supports other worthy causes as they come up.

Nick enjoys the Wyoming outdoors, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and cheering on and helping coach his sons in all of their athletic activities.
