The Peace Pole, through the generosity of Rotarian Larry Atwell, was installed September 25th at Rotary Park next to the Greenway on Dell Range. There are eight languages on the pole saying May Peace Prevail on Earth. Including English they are: Spanish, French, Lakota, Portuguese, German, Japanese and Hindi and Veterans for Peace. The first four languages were chosen to represent the peoples/countries that developed what is now Wyoming and the last four are to pick up the many other language speakers that come to Cheyenne and Wyoming as tourists and business people throughout the year such as during Cheyenne Frontier Days. This is our first Rotary improvement to the park and it represents what Rotary is all about. Thank you to Larry for bringing it to our attention and providing support for the purchase and installation.
