Today, we remember Neil Carroll, a dedicated member of our Rotary Club for over 45 years. For many of those years, he achieved perfect attendance—a testament to his commitment and spirit of service.
Neil was born in 1934 and passed away on April 6 at the age of 90. He led a fascinating and fulfilling life. Though born in Casper, he spent much of his childhood in Aruba, where his father worked at an oil refinery. Like many men of his generation, Neil served in the U.S. Army before attending the University of Colorado. It was there he met his wife, Mary, who is also a longtime and valued member of our Rotary Club.
In 1970, Neil and Mary made Cheyenne their home. Over the years, he was active in several business ventures and community efforts. He was the principal of Carroll Oil Company and was also involved with Cheyenne Vending and Amusement.
Neil was deeply devoted to both his family and the community he loved. He often said he wanted to be remembered as a “real Wyoming boy,” with strong family roots in the state—and indeed, he will be.
